FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What are cannabinoids?

Cannabinoids are compounds found in various types of cannabis, including industrial hemp. More than 1,200 compounds have already been discovered in cannabis, including hundreds of terpenoids. They have a beneficial effect on human health and give fruit, flowers and herbs their characteristic aromas and taste. Cannabinoids are a subgroup of terpenoids.

There are more than 144 cannabinoids in different types of cannabis, which have many beneficial effects on the human body due to their ability to interact with endocannabinoid receptors in our body. Cannabinoids are a heterogeneous group of compounds, the common feature of which is that they bind to the cannabinoid receptors CB1 and CB2, which belong to the terpene phenols and are classified as lipids. Therefore, they are fat soluble.

Cannabinoids are divided into three groups according to their origin: Endocannabinoids, phytocannabinoids and synthetic cannabinoids.

  • Endocannabinoids, or endogenous cannabinoids, are naturally occurring lipid-based neurotransmitters produced in the human body and the bodies of all animals, including vertebrates (mammals, birds, reptiles, and fish) and invertebrates (sea urchins, leeches, clams, nematodes, and others). Neurotransmitters are chemical messengers in the body that send signals between nerve cells. Endocannabinoids help with various bodily functions. The body produces them as needed, so it's hard to know what typical levels are.

  • Phytocannabinoids are plant compounds that act on endocannabinoid receptors in the body. More than 100 phytocannabinoids have been isolated from cannabis, and these compounds have different affinities for endocannabinoid receptors. Some of these compounds have profound physiological effects and are the subject of intense medical research. Phytocannabinoids are also found in other plants: American sedum, sedum, Asian hops, and some plant species from the Apiaceae and Brassica genera.

  • Synthetic cannabinoids are chemically obtained in laboratories.

What is CBD?

CBD is short for cannabidiol. CBD is one of more than a hundred cannabinoids, or chemical compounds, found in the marijuana or hemp plant (Cannabis).
CBD is the main cannabinoid in industrial hemp (Cannabis sativa), which has been increasingly used for therapeutic purposes in recent years.
CBD is a cannabinoid with no psychotropic effects and no side effects even after long-term use.

What is the Endocannabinoid System (ECS)?

The endocannabinoid system (ECS) is a group of endogenous cannabinoids and endocannabinoid receptors located in the brain, central and peripheral nervous systems, and certain organs of humans and animals.

The ECS mediates, directs and controls communication between endocannabinoids produced by the human body and endocannabinoid receptors involved in processes such as thinking, memory, coordination, pleasure and time perception.

In addition to endocannabinoids, the endocannabinoid system is also affected by phytocannabinoids, which are cannabinoids of plant origin. The interaction of phytocannabinoids with the endocannabinoid system contributes to many beneficial effects on the human body.

What is CO2 extraction?

The CO2 extraction process from plants uses pressurized carbon dioxide to extract phytochemicals (such as cannabinoids, terpenes, flavonoids, etc.). CO2 acts as a solvent at certain temperatures and pressures. This is one of the most expensive extraction methods, but it is widely used due to its high efficiency, safety and environmentally friendly processing approach.

What is action synergy?

We speak of synergistic action when the desired effect of products with hemp extracts with a wide range of cannabinoids occurs. CBD is known to be more effective when combined with other natural hemp substances than when CBD is used alone.

The term "synergistic effect of components" has a similar meaning: several substances when used simultaneously have a stronger effect compared to the sum of the effects when using a single substance separately.

What are the benefits of CBD in skincare products?

Skincare products containing CBD thoroughly moisturize the skin, protect it from harmful external influences and successfully fight against visible signs of aging. CBD is a powerful antioxidant that reduces the appearance of wrinkles and rejuvenates and revitalizes the complexion. In addition, CBD effectively opens and cleans pores and prevents the appearance of redness.

Are CBD products safe to use?

CBD is considered a non-toxic and safe ingredient. All products containing CBD extracts and other hemp ingredients offered on Naturissimo.eu are certified (ISO certified) and manufactured according to the strictest pharmaceutical standards (GMP).

Is CBD legal?

CBD is made from industrial hemp, which according to European legislation can contain up to 0.2% THC and is legal as such.

What is the difference between CBD and THC?

CBD does not contain the psychoactive substance THC (tetrahydrocannabinol) and therefore does not cause a feeling of intoxication.

Is CBD narcotic?

No, CBD is not a psychoactive cannabinoid. Its use does not affect psychomotor skills and we are not drowsy after using CBD.

Is CBD addictive?

CBD is non-addictive as it does not contain THC. In industrial hemp, the value of the THC cannabinoid is minimal (maximum 0.2% THC) or zero.

The use of CBD

Medical scientists have only recently taken a more in-depth look at cannabinoids and CBD dosing systems due to poor regulation so far. Somewhat more extensive research has so far been done in Israel, while the rest of the world has been limited by ban regulations.

Nevertheless, the world literature notes that CBD is not a toxic substance and has not shown psychoactive side effects in tested users.

In January 2019, the World Health Organization (WHO-WHO) made a recommendation to the United Nations (UN-UN) that CBD products with up to 0.2% Delta-9-THC do not need international control, as their use does not pose any relevant health risks .

This also applies to extracts from t. i. industrial hemp that contains up to 0.2% Delta-9-THC (tetrahydrocannabinol) and is not psychoactive. CBD has been scientifically proven to be non-toxic. On the contrary, it has a series of effects that have a beneficial effect on people's well-being and health. As noted in the UN recommendation, CBD consumption has no side effects and poses no health risks.

We also recommend that you consult your doctor or pharmacist.

Never stop taking medications prescribed by your doctor. Do not abandon other therapies and diagnostic procedures. If you take a lot of medication, it is recommended that you consult your doctor or pharmacist before you start the treatment. Today, many doctors are also educated and skilled in alternative CBD treatment and its uses.
